Purpose

This document serves as a list and record of extraordinary items. Items in the list have been categorized as "extraordinary" because they fit the following definition:

An "ordinary" item is a commonplace item which is normal and unsurprising to most people. An item which can be labelled as "extraordinary" is one whose name can refer to many variations of the same object, and yet each varient be just as "ordinary" as the rest. The initial image that appears in one's mind upon hearing the name of such an item should not be in conflict with the usual real world representation of the item.

This list is by no means comprehensive, but it displays many perfect examples of such items.
